About

I’m a systems-oriented person by default. I’m most comfortable building, maintaining, and fixing things — whether they are servers, tools, or something physical that needs to keep working over time.

I tend to favor setups that are simple, understandable, and recoverable, both professionally and personally.

Technical Outlook

  • FOSS-first
I prefer open-source software for its transparency, auditability, and long-term sustainability.

  • Self-hosting as a default choice
When a service can be reasonably hosted and maintained locally, I usually do so. This helps me understand the full lifecycle of the system and retain control over my data.

  • Privacy concerns
I avoid unnecessary data exposure and opaque platforms. Data locality and access control matter.

  • EU-hosted services preference
When external services are required, I favor EU-based providers and infrastructure.

  • Vendor lock-in awareness
I design systems so they can be migrated, replaced, or decommissioned. Well, at least I try, it doesn’t always work out.

  • Maintainability over cleverness
Clear setups, good defaults, and documentation are preferred over fragile optimizations.

Outside the Screen

When I’m not working with infrastructure, I tend to stay physically active or build things by hand:

  • Spending time in the mountains
  • Gravel and mountain biking
  • Camping and overlanding with a Toyota and a small trailer
  • Building, fixing, or improvising things around the house
  • Running and maintaining self-hosted services on a small home server rack
  • Eat pasta and drive fasta
  • Annoy wife and kid. Daily.

If you made it this far, thanks.
